TSMC buys an Innolux plant in Tainan for NT$17.1B to expand CoWoS capacity
TSMC agreed to buy a closed Innolux flat-panel display plant in Tainan for NT$17.14 billion (approximately US$530 million) to add advanced packaging capacity. The acquisition came as TSMC aimed to more than double CoWoS capacity amid AI chip supply constraints.
