Hedera puts council-operated Block Nodes into private preview on mainnet, ahead of a 2026 launch
In November 2025 the Hashgraph team deployed Block Nodes run by council members on previewnet, testnet and mainnet, in parallel with existing systems. Block Nodes store and stream network history in a new unified format called Block Streams, replacing large cloud-bucket downloads.
- Private preview deployed November 2025 on all three networks.
- Community testing access planned for Q1 2026; full public launch in 2026.
- Mirror-node operators must upgrade before the switch to Block Streams.
