Hedera Council will raise the consensus-message fee from $0.0001 to $0.0008, its first price change since 2019

The council announced that the fee for submitting a message to Hedera's consensus service would rise eightfold, from $0.0001 to $0.0008, with the v0.69 software release planned for January 2026. It said the old price sat below the real cost of the computing and infrastructure behind each message; all other fees stay the same and remain fixed in US dollars.

• First transaction-price adjustment since open access in 2019.
• Applies only to consensus-service message submissions.
• Fees stay fixed in USD and are paid in HBAR at the live rate; the new price is now in Hedera's published fee schedule.
