Hedera
Hashgraph public ledger, council-run
Hedera is a public ledger run by a council of 30+ large organisations, including Google, IBM, Dell, Deutsche Telekom and FedEx, which each operate a network node. It uses the hashgraph consensus method instead of a blockchain and charges fixed, dollar-priced fees.
- FedEx joined the governing council in February 2026 and will run a node with an equal vote.
- Fees are fixed in US dollars: a basic HBAR transfer costs $0.0001, paid in HBAR at the live rate.
- The network passed 10 million accounts in September 2026; its whole codebase is open source as Hiero.
