Tesla ends Model S and Model X production to convert the Fremont line for Optimus
The last Model S and Model X left Tesla's Fremont factory after 14 and 11 years of production, ending with a 350-car Signature Edition run (250 S, 100 X) at $159,420 each. The production space will shift to Tesla's first Optimus humanoid robot line.
- Production end: 14 years for Model S, 11 years for Model X
- Final run: 350 Signature Edition cars (250 S, 100 X) at $159,420 each
- Reason: Models became a niche product versus 1.6M Model 3/Y deliveries in 2025
- Replacement: Space converted for Optimus humanoid robot manufacturing
