PEJ and Westinghouse-Bechtel agree main terms of the EPC contract; signing targeted for end of 2026

PEJ and the Westinghouse-Bechtel consortium settled the main commercial and legal terms of the contract to engineer, supply and build the plant, aiming to sign it by year-end. The site was handed to Bechtel in August 2026, and Polish firms have already won about $250 million of project work.
- First nuclear concrete targeted for 2028, first power to the grid in 2036.
- Westinghouse supplies the AP1000 technology; Bechtel took over site management in Aug 2026 as earthworks continued.
- About 200 Polish nationals already on the project team, with about 100 more being hired.
