DOE milestone panel confirms CFS's SPARC toroidal field magnet passed its performance tests

A DOE panel of magnet experts confirmed Commonwealth Fusion Systems' production toroidal field magnets meet performance requirements after a month of tests simulating SPARC operation. The result was CFS's third DOE Milestone-Based Fusion Development Program milestone and earned it $8M, the largest payment in the program so far.
