The brief
- MJF prints nylon at 10x speed with isotropy; 10+ million parts in customer production by 2026.
- Metal Jet offers 50x higher productivity than laser melting; deployed by GKN and Parmatech.
- 3D printing centre of excellence in Barcelona. Entry-level MJF 1200 announced in 2026.
Technical approach
30,000-nozzle thermal inkjet arrays
MJF uses 30,000 nozzles to deposit heat across the whole powder bed at once. Speeds reach 350 drops per second.
Four-station integrated workflow
Metal Jet S100 combines powder management, print, thermal curing, and powder removal into a single system, automating the path from design to finished part.
Open platform for multiple powder types
HP's platforms work with various nylon and metal powders, allowing customers to choose materials suited to their parts without changing machines.
