The brief
- H1 2026 revenue surpassed all of 2025; record backlog ~$807M; two production lines running.
- First $68.3M advance received from $303.5M DOE Loan Guarantee; expanding to 8 GWh/year by 2027.
- Z3 achieves 100% depth of discharge; 6,000 cycles over ~20 years; up to 79% round-trip efficiency.
Technical approach
Water-based zinc electrolyte
Z3 uses zinc hybrid cathodes and water-based electrolyte, avoiding lithium supply issues. Achieves 100% depth of discharge; 6,000+ cycles.
3–12 hour discharge windows
Z3 is designed for daily balancing: grid peaks, renewable smoothing, microgrids. Lithium-ion is optimized for shorter durations.
No thermal runaway risk
Water-based electrolyte and flame-retardant framing prevent thermal runaway. Mildly acidic (pH 2–4), non-flammable, safer near people.
US-made, modular scaling
Eos manufactures Z3 entirely in the US. Modular production lines allow cost-efficient scaling: adding lines rather than redesigning for larger formats.
