Zoox unveils its bidirectional robotaxi with no steering wheel
Amazon-owned Zoox revealed a purpose-built robotaxi with four-wheel steering and bidirectional driving—no steering wheel, driver's seat, or traditional seating. The 3.63-meter vehicle seats four passengers in face-to-face configuration, reaches 75 mph, and can operate 16 hours on its 133 kWh battery.
- Four-wheel steering enables bidirectional motion, eliminating the need to reverse through tight spaces.
- 133 kWh battery supports up to 16 hours continuous operation; vehicle reaches 75 mph.
- Four-seat face-to-face symmetrical seating; sensors provide 270-degree field of view.
- Zoox designed the vehicle as purpose-built autonomous hardware from the ground up.
