Zoox starts free public robotaxi rides in San Francisco
Zoox opened free rides in its steering-wheel-free robotaxi to members of the public in about 3 square miles of San Francisco's SoMa, Mission and Design District via a waitlist. It could not charge fares until NHTSA extended its exemption to commercial service; Zoox ran about 50 robotaxis across Las Vegas and San Francisco.
