Quantinuum and Oracle partner to offer hybrid quantum computing on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Quantinuum will install a Helios trapped-ion quantum computer in a US Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI data center and offer it as an Oracle cloud service. Customers could run quantum jobs alongside Oracle's GPUs, storage and networking without buying hardware. Oracle plans to preview the service in the coming months; it is not yet available.
- Helios has 98 physical qubits with an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%, and has been used to run 48 logical (error-corrected) qubits.
- Helios draws about 60 kW, under 1% of the 16–39 MW used by leading supercomputers.
- Helios launched commercially in November 2025.
- Putting the machine inside the data center, rather than reaching it over the internet, cuts delay for hybrid jobs that pass work back and forth with classical computers.
