OpenAI says Stargate has secured over 10 GW of US capacity, a goal it had set for 2029
OpenAI said it has secured more than the 10 GW of US AI infrastructure it promised for 2029, with over 3 GW added in the previous 90 days, and is scouting more sites. It pointed to Abilene, Texas, whose closed-loop cooling needs about as much water a year as four households at full build-out.
