OpenAI pledges each Stargate campus will pay for its own power so local electricity bills do not rise
A year in, OpenAI said Stargate was well past halfway to 10 GW of planned US capacity, with Abilene already training and serving models and sites under way in Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Michigan. Each site gets a community plan, and OpenAI committed to fund the new generation and grid upgrades its load requires.
