IonQ reports 99.99% two-qubit gate fidelity

IonQ released technical papers showing two-qubit gate fidelity above 99.99% using Electronic Qubit Control (EQC) technology, which drives trapped-ion qubits with precision electronics instead of lasers and works without ground-state cooling. The result underpins its planned 256-qubit systems.

• EQC uses semiconductor-integrated qubit-control components enabling manufacturing in existing fabs.
