Chainlink launches CCIP Vault Adapters, letting DeFi vaults take one-click deposits from 80+ blockchains
Chainlink LabsCross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP)
Chainlink's CCIP Vault Adapters went live on October 8, 2026. They let a DeFi vault that runs on one home chain accept deposits from more than 80 blockchains in one click, without users bridging funds and depositing in separate steps. Vault issuers keep their logic, accounting and risk settings on that single chain.
- Funds move from the depositor's chain straight into the destination vault through CCIP's Programmable Token Transfer.
- Standard ERC-4626 vaults can add the adapter through a factory contract with no custom cross-chain code, and their share tokens can become Cross-Chain Tokens.
- Named early adopters include Aave, Lombard and Venus; the post lists more, and the article notes some names vary across coverage.
- The first scope is cross-chain deposits and redemptions into ERC-4626 vaults; asynchronous vaults, cooldowns and multi-asset support are described as coming later.
- Chainlink says it does not deploy, control or endorse any vault or strategy that uses the adapters.
