Cambrian reports Phase 1b ATX-304 results at ADA 2026: gains in resting metabolic rate, liver fat and visceral fat

Cambrian reported Phase 1b data for ATX-304, an AMPK-network activator, showing significant improvements in liver fat, visceral fat, triglycerides and resting metabolic rate in 23 adults with obesity and prediabetes, with a safety profile comparable to placebo.

  • Statistically significant reductions in liver fat (MRI-PDFF, p<0.05), visceral adipose tissue (p<0.05) and triglycerides (p<0.01).
  • Resting metabolic rate increased 8% (p<0.01); plasma adiponectin increased significantly (p<0.01).
  • No adverse events related to core body temperature, heart rate or mitochondrial dysfunction; Phase 2 trials planned.
