Amazon invests in X-energy and targets 5 GW of Xe-100 capacity by 2039

Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund led approximately $500 million Series C-1 investment in X-energy, with the two setting a goal of deploying more than 5 gigawatts of Xe-100 capacity across the United States by 2039. The initial project is a 320 MW plant with Energy Northwest in Washington, expandable to 960 MW; this represents the largest commercial SMR deployment target announced to date.
