The brief
- Dominant ADAS chipmaker (EyeQ in millions of vehicles); scaling Level 4 with VW, Audi, Porsche and Uber, Lyft robotaxis.
- Drive Level 4 testing in LA with Uber (2026); driverless service 2027. European trials (Oslo, Hamburg) starting 2026.
- SuperVision (Level 3) and Chauffeur (Level 4 prototype with EyeQ6) in development; SOP 2027–2028 for premium brands.
Technical approach
One architecture, five autonomy levels
One software stack from Level 2 to Level 4 using same perception and planning modules, reducing OEM development cost.
Triple redundancy: cameras, lidar, radar
Drive uses 13 cameras, 9 lidars, 5 radars (27 total). Each fails independently; system survives loss of any one.
Road Experience Management
Proprietary mapping layer records road conditions; shared by fleet so each new city ramp-up is faster.
Purpose-built hardware
EyeQ SoC handles perception and planning; EyeQ6 newest, supporting Level 4 with production vehicle power budget.
