Current obstacles

OEM integration timelinesEach automaker's development cycle, validation, regulatory approval and production ramp is slow; SuperVision and Chauffeur SOPs are years away.
Safety validation and liabilityOEMs and regulators demand extensive testing. Mobileye's $1.5B revenue target assumes Chauffeur sales; proving that assumption requires successful launches.

Physics limits

Level 3 still requires human oversightEven hands-off, the driver must be ready to take over; attention can fade, so Level 3 use is limited to highways in good weather where takeover time is reasonable.
Level 4 is geography-lockedFully autonomous operation is limited to known, mapped, tested geographies. Expanding to a new city requires new road data, testing and regulatory approval, months per location.
