Mobileye acquires humanoid robotics startup Mentee Robotics for $900 million

Mobileye announced at CES 2026 an agreement to acquire Mentee Robotics, a humanoid robotics startup founded in 2022 by Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua, computer vision researcher Lior Wolf and machine-learning researcher Shai Shalev-Shwartz. Mobileye, majority-owned by Intel, is combining its autonomous-driving AI and sensing technology with Mentee's humanoid platform to advance physical AI across both domains.

  • Deal value: $612 million cash plus up to 26.2 million Class A shares of Mobileye, subject to vesting
  • Mentee's platform uses simulation-based learning from human demonstrations to train robots for autonomous industrial and household tasks
  • Proof-of-concept deployments targeted for 2026; series production planned for 2028
  • Shashua serves as Mentee co-founder and chairman; Wolf and Shalev-Shwartz remain as CEO and CTO respectively
