Ultium Cells Warren, Ohio plant begins battery cell production

Ultium Cells LLC, the joint venture between GM and LG Energy Solution, began production at its Warren, Ohio battery plant in August 2022. The $2.3 billion facility started manufacturing cells for Hummer EVs, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and Cadillac Lyriq. Initially in training mode, the plant would ramp to 1,300-person capacity at full production.
