The first Cybercab production unit, with no steering wheel, rolls off the line at Giga Texas
Tesla built its first production Cybercab, a two-seat robotaxi with no steering wheel or pedals, at Gigafactory Texas. Continuous production was targeted for April 2026. The vehicle has a 35 kWh battery with 200-mile range, costs under $30,000, and will operate solely as an autonomous taxi with no manual fallback.
- First unit rolled off line February 17, 2026; continuous production slated April 2026.
- No steering wheel, pedals, or manual override—depends entirely on driverless software not yet deployed at scale.
- Target price under $30,000; uses inductive charging and butterfly doors; designed for consumer electronics-style manufacturing speed (10-second cycle target).
