Tesla and Pilot open the first 1.2 MW Semi Megacharger site, at a Pilot in Ellabell, Georgia
Tesla and Pilot Travel Centers opened their first Megacharger site for heavy trucks at Pilot location 1390 in Ellabell, Georgia, near Savannah. Six stalls are live, each delivering up to 1.2 MW using Tesla's V4 cabinet technology. The sites are meant to serve Tesla Semi operators along freight corridors.
- Each Pilot site will have four to eight stalls; twelve more locations are under construction and three are close to opening.
- Tesla says a Semi can recover about 60% of its charge in roughly 30 minutes at 1.2 MW.
- The partnership covers California, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada and Texas; the Ellabell site opened a day after Tesla's Conley, Georgia Megacharger.
- Tesla said in September it expects more than 30 US Megacharger stations online by the end of 2026.
