Revolution Wind delivers first power to the New England grid

Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables said the 704 MW Revolution Wind farm began sending electricity to the New England grid before the whole farm was finished. Once complete it is meant to supply more than 350,000 homes and businesses in Rhode Island and Connecticut, with its strongest output in winter.

  • 704 MW farm, owned 50/50 by Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables.
  • Power began flowing while construction was still under way.
  • Ørsted claims up to $500M a year in wholesale energy savings for ratepayers.
  • More than 2,000 workers took part in construction.
