Redwood begins critical materials recovery at its South Carolina site
Redwood MaterialsRecycling and materials campus
Redwood began recovering critical materials at its 600-acre Berkeley County, South Carolina campus with an initial capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year. The Nevada site produced over 60,000 tonnes last year, making Redwood the only US producer of cobalt at scale and a major domestic source of nickel, lithium and copper.
- South Carolina site adds 20,000 tonnes of annual critical minerals recovery; recovers cobalt, lithium, nickel and copper from lithium-ion batteries.
- Nevada campus produced over 60,000 tonnes last year—the only US producer of cobalt at scale and a major domestic source of nickel, lithium and copper.
- Redwood's two-site model scales recycling to recover critical materials for battery manufacturing, reducing US dependence on mining and imports.
