Neurona raises $102M to take NRTX-1001 into a Phase 3 trial

Neurona closed an enlarged, oversubscribed $102M private round to fund a Phase 3 trial of its epilepsy cell therapy, following talks with the FDA. UCB's venture arm joined the round, a year before UCB bought the company.

• Led by Fidelity, The Column Group, Soleus Capital, Viking Global and Cormorant Asset Management.
• UCB Ventures participated.
• Follows a $120M raise in February 2024.
• The planned EPIC trial assigns patients 2:1 to the cells or a sham procedure, double-blind; it was then due to start recruiting in H2 2025.
