Microsoft and Atom Computing entangle 24 logical qubits

Atom ComputingAtom arrays and Magne

Microsoft and Atom Computing created and entangled 24 logical qubits—the largest number of entangled logical qubits to date—and demonstrated error detection and correction on 28 logical qubits. The system pairs Atom's >1,000-qubit neutral-atom hardware with Microsoft's error-correction stack and will ship to customers in 2025.

  • 24 entangled logical qubits is a record; error-corrected logical qubits outperformed uncorrected physical qubits.
  • Successfully detected and corrected qubit loss errors in real time during computation on 28 logical qubits.
  • Integrated system available now for order; delivery set for 2025 with select early customers.
  • Combines Atom's neutral-atom platform with Microsoft's Azure Quantum qubit virtualization and error-correction stack.
