Atom Computing announces a 1,180-qubit neutral-atom array

Atom ComputingAtom arrays and Magne

Atom Computing built a 1,225-site atomic array with 1,180 qubits in its next-generation platform, the first gate-based system to exceed 1,000 qubits. The system featured record 40-second coherence times, mid-circuit measurement, and high-fidelity controls. Release was planned for 2024.

  • First gate-based system to surpass 1,000 qubits—1,180 qubits in 1,225-site array.
  • Record coherence times of 40 seconds allow qubits to store quantum information longer.
  • Mid-circuit measurement capability to detect errors without disrupting other qubits.
  • Order-of-magnitude leap from 100 to 1,000+ qubits within one generation; planned 2024 release.
