KHNP and Czech EDU II sign final EPC contract for Dukovany 5 and 6

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power/Dukovany 5 and 6 (APR1000)

KHNP and the Czech utility EDU II signed a €18.6 billion engineering, procurement and construction contract on June 4, 2025. The contract covers two APR1000 reactors at Dukovany, making Korea the first nation to export a complete reactor design to Europe. Construction is planned to start in 2029, with Unit 5 reaching commercial operation in 2036 and Unit 6 in 2038.
