China approves two series-built Guohe One reactors at Laiyang among eight new units

SPIC (State Power Investment Corp)/Guohe One (CAP1400)

China's State Council approved eight reactors: six Hualong One units and two Guohe One units at SPIC's Laiyang site in Shandong. The Laiyang pair is the first standardised, batch-built Guohe One project, with six units planned there in the end.

• Approval came at a State Council meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang.
• The other six approvals were Hualong One units at Jinqimen, Taipingling and Zhuanghe.
• SPIC is responsible for Laiyang's investment, construction and operation.
