CarbonCure, Saudi concrete producer Abdullah Abdin and industrial-gas supplier Gulf Cryo agreed to use captured CO2 in concrete at Abdin's Ghayal plant for building NEOM. CO2 injected into the mix mineralizes and becomes permanent, letting producers use less cement.

  • Collaboration convened by Saudi Ministry of Energy at Abdin's Ghayal plant in NEOM; Gulf Cryo supplies captured CO2 for injection by CarbonCure.
  • CO2 injected into concrete immediately mineralizes and becomes permanently embedded, reducing embodied carbon at NEOM's large-scale construction projects.
  • Reduced cement use at same strength improves concrete durability and lowering environmental impact per cubic metre.
