BYD Reaches 150,000 Commercial NEV Production Milestone, Expands Truck Focus
BYD announced October 10, 2026, that it has reached 150,000 cumulative commercial new-energy vehicles (NEVs) produced, with a Q3 electric semi-truck rolling off the production line at the Huai'an truck plant in Jiangsu on October 9. The milestone caps 18 years of commercial vehicle development and reflects BYD's shift in growth focus toward trucks, particularly long-haul freight. Commercial NEV sales rose 28.46% year-on-year to 53,032 units in the first nine months of 2026, while overall NEV sales fell 3.94%.
