BYD's first 1,000 kW charging stations are readied for public use in April

BYDSuper e-Platform

BYD said about 500 of its 1,000 kW ultra-fast chargers would be ready when the Han L and Tang L launched in April, out of 4,000 planned. The chargers, paired with BYD's 1,000-volt Blade battery, add 400 km of range in five minutes—double Tesla's V4 Superchargers—using onsite energy storage to maintain power on weak grids.

  • 500 of 4,000 chargers ready by April 2025; deliver 400 km range in 5 minutes (2 km per second), twice V4 Supercharger capacity
  • Han L and Tang L batteries support 10C charging rate (1,000 A, 1,000 V); require new silicon-carbide power chips rated to 1,500V
  • Grid-independent operation via onsite energy storage prevents power loss in areas with limited electrical infrastructure
