Base activates Azul, adding TEE and ZK multiproofs that can cut withdrawals to about a day

Base launched Azul, its first upgrade since leaving Optimism's Superchain. Withdrawals are backed by two independent proof types—a secure-hardware (TEE) proof and a zero-knowledge proof; when both agree, funds can leave for Ethereum in as little as a day.

• Multiproof system combines TEE and ZK verification; ZK proofs can override TEE proofs if they conflict
• Withdrawal finality reduced to as little as one day when both proof types agree
• New client stack reduced empty blocks by roughly 99% (from ~200 daily to ~2); sustains 5,000 transactions per second
