Amazon reveals Cascade, a 12-reactor Xe-100 plant planned near Richland, Washington

X-energy/Cascade Advanced Energy Facility (Energy Northwest)

Amazon named and showed the design of the Cascade Advanced Energy Facility, which Energy Northwest would build with Amazon funding using X-energy's Xe-100 reactors. The plan grew to 12 reactors in three 320 MW blocks, 960 MW in total, on a site of a few city blocks. Construction is expected to start by the end of the decade, with power in the 2030s.

• 12 Xe-100 reactors of 80 MW each, built in three 320 MW phases.
• Amazon had anchored X-energy's roughly $500M Series C-1 round in 2024.
• An August 2025 pact with KHNP and Doosan Enerbility aims to mobilize up to $50B for Xe-100 projects.
