Technical approach
One model from camera to motor
Spirit models take camera images and an instruction and output arm and hand movements directly, not via separate vision, planning and control modules.
Cheap real-world data at scale
The company says it cut data-collection cost to about a tenth of usual methods and had more than 200,000 hours of real interaction data by April 2026.
Own robot with force-sensing joints
Moz1 uses in-house joints that sense and control force, so arms can push gently or firmly: key for cloth, cables and parts that must seat precisely.
Open-sourced model
Spirit v1.5 was released openly in January 2026, letting outside labs test and build on it, a common way for robot-model makers to win developers.
