Velo3D Sapphire printers meet the US Department of Defense's STIG cybersecurity requirements

Velo3DSapphire

Velo3D's Sapphire printers became the first metal 3D printers to reach Green-level STIG compliance, the Pentagon's top cybersecurity rating for networked equipment, scoring 97 percent against a 90 percent bar. Defence users can now connect them to secure networks instead of air-gapping them.

  • Sapphire printers achieved 97% compliance score, exceeding 90% DoD Green-level STIG threshold
  • STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) is Pentagon's cybersecurity standard for networked systems
  • Enables connection to Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet)
  • Defence buyers no longer need special exceptions; printers can integrate into classified networks without air-gapping
