Vast begins final assembly of Haven-1 flight hardware
Vast announced it had begun integration of Haven-1 flight hardware, moving from component development to final assembly. Haven-1 is planned as the first commercial space station in orbit, designed to be a stepping stone to Haven-2, Vast's proposed multi-module successor to the ISS, with station launch targeted for Q1 2027.
- Integration phase: three stages including pressurized systems (thermal, life support, propulsion); avionics; crew habitation
- Haven-1: first commercial standalone crewed space station; provides microgravity research and manufacturing platform
- Haven-2: multi-module successor to ISS; permanent human presence in LEO by 2030 envisioned
- Launch target: Q1 2027 on SpaceX Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral, Florida
