Vast announces Haven-1, planned as the first commercial space station
Vast announced Haven-1 on May 10, 2023, a single-module commercial space station targeted for launch on Falcon 9 by August 2025, followed by Vast-1, a Dragon mission for four crew on up to 30 days aboard. Vast claimed the first commercial station company with both a contracted launch and a crewed mission.
- Haven-1: single-module station; contracted Falcon 9 launch; docking for Dragon, support for 4 astronauts, 1000W power, large window dome.
- Vast-1: inaugural crewed mission, four people aboard Dragon for up to 30 days in orbit; first visiting human spaceflight to Haven-1.
- Original target: August 2025; later adjusted to May 2026 NET; represents first integrated commercial station + crewed transport combination.
