Paradromics launches a patient registry ahead of its first human trial
Paradromics opened a patient registry in advance of its first human trial of the Connexus brain-computer interface, a device inserted directly into brain tissue for restoring communication and motor control. The registry allows patients, carers and clinicians to express interest ahead of clinical trial enrollment.
- Connexus targets severe paralysis and speech loss due to ALS, spinal cord injury and stroke; enables text or synthesized speech communication.
- Registry launched ahead of Connect-One early feasibility study; Paradromics received FDA Investigational Device Exemption in late 2024.
- FDA regulatory accelerator acceptance (July 2024) and dual Breakthrough Device designations indicate expedited development pathway.
