OpenAI launches GPT-Rosalind, a reasoning model for life sciences, in a trusted-access preview
OpenAI released GPT-Rosalind, a model tuned for biology, drug discovery and translational medicine, as a research preview in ChatGPT, Codex and the API. Access was limited to qualified US enterprise customers with governance and misuse controls. A free Codex plugin linking 50+ scientific databases was released for everyone.

- Beat GPT-5.4 on 6 of 11 LABBench2 tasks, with the biggest gain on DNA cloning questions.
- Partners include Amgen, Moderna, Novo Nordisk, Thermo Fisher, Oracle Health, NVIDIA and the Allen Institute.
- Pricing not announced; use during the preview did not draw on customers' existing credits.
