GPT-Rosalind leaves research preview, with gated access worldwide and paid API pricing

OpenAI moved GPT-Rosalind out of research preview and made it available to vetted organizations in any country through ChatGPT Enterprise, Codex and the API. It is now a paid product, with billing starting on 5 October. Access still requires passing OpenAI's review and is limited to internal research use.

• API price: $5 per million input tokens, $0.50 cached, $25 per million output tokens.
• Billing began 5 October 2026.
• Not self-serve: organizations must show legitimate science plus governance and safety oversight.
• The free life-sciences plugin linking 50+ public databases and tools stays open to everyone.
