NRC certifies NuScale's SMR design, the first SMR certified in the US

The NRC published a final rule certifying NuScale's small modular reactor design, effective February 21, 2023, allowing utilities to reference the certified design in license applications without having to re-litigate the safety case. This was the first SMR design certified in the United States.
