Meta announces a multi-billion-dollar AI data centre in Richland Parish, Louisiana, later named Hyperion
Meta and Louisiana's governor announced a $10 billion AI data centre on a 2,250-acre site in Richland Parish, Meta's largest to date, to be built from December 2024 through 2030. Entergy Louisiana would build new power plants to supply it; Meta pledged at least 1,500 MW of new renewable energy. The facility will occupy 4 million square feet.
