Mazdutide approved by China's NMPA for type 2 diabetes as world's first dual GLP-1/glucagon agonist

The NMPA approved mazdutide for glycemic management in adults with type 2 diabetes, making it the world's first dual GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist to achieve regulatory approval. Approval was based on positive DREAMS-1 and DREAMS-2 trials.

• DREAMS-1 showed 2.15% HbA1c reduction and 7.81% weight loss at the 6 mg dose.
