Mazdutide approved by China's NMPA for long-term weight management in adults with obesity

China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved mazdutide for long-term weight management in adults with body mass index ≥28 kg/m² or ≥24 kg/m² with one or more weight-related comorbidity. Approval was based on GLORY-2 Phase 3 trial data showing 18.55% weight loss over 60 weeks.

• GLORY-2 enrolled 462 adults with obesity in a 2:1 randomization (mazdutide 9 mg vs placebo for 60 weeks).
• Mazdutide 9 mg achieved 18.55% mean weight loss versus 3.02% for placebo at week 60.
• 44.0% of mazdutide-treated participants achieved ≥20% weight loss versus 2.6% of placebo recipients.
