Li-Cycle pursues buyer; Glencore agrees to acquire battery recycler

Li-Cycle, facing cash constraints and a stalled Rochester hub project, formally began seeking a buyer in March 2025. Glencore announced its intention to acquire Li-Cycle's assets, including four North American spoke facilities, the Rochester hub project, the Magdeburg hub in Germany, and intellectual property, for an undisclosed sum.
