Glencore completes acquisition of Li-Cycle; gains Rochester hub and European recycling capacity

Glencore Plc completed its acquisition of Li-Cycle on August 8, 2025. The purchase includes four spoke facilities in North America (Arizona, Alabama, New York, Ontario), the Magdeburg hub in Germany (one of Europe's largest battery recycling plants), the stalled Rochester hub project, and Li-Cycle's intellectual property. The financial terms were not disclosed.
