Juvenescence completes Phase 1 trial of its PAI-1 inhibitor
Juvenescence's PAI-1 inhibitor MDI-2517 completed a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 1 trial with good safety and tolerability and once-daily dosing. It targets fibrotic diseases including chronic kidney disease and interstitial lung disease.
- MDI-2517 is a first-in-class small-molecule PAI-1 inhibitor regulating pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic processes.
- Development informed by genetic evidence showing PAI-1 reduction associates with ~10-year lifespan extension.
- Phase 2 proof-of-concept trial in metabolic and fibrotic disease planned for later in 2026.
